Jessica Brys-Wilson, PA-C
Jessica Brys-Wilson was born and reared in the rural upstate NY town of Stratford in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. She attended Union College in Schenectady, NY where she worked as the Union College Health Educator and then was active in a walk-in counseling center for HIV/AIDS patients and their families. She also served as a mentor for underprivileged youths within the community and volunteered at a small, family owned Nursing Home until moving to Buffalo to attend PA school in 2001.
Mrs. Brys-Wilson moved to Rocky Mount after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Daemen College in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. While attending Daemen, Jessica was actively involved in the PA Student Society and in Students Without Borders, a student-run organization that provided complimentary health care to a small community in the Dominican Republic annually. She also worked at a group home providing direct care for developmentally disabled adults. Jessica completed her senior thesis and research project on the treatment of osteoporosis. In addition to the typical medical and surgical rotations, she also completed medical rotations in the specialties of Rheumatology, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Radiation Oncology.
Jessica enjoys bicycling, traveling, cooking, photography, and animal rescue. She is married to Eric Brys-Wilson, originally of Eden, NY who is employed as a Rocky Mount Police Officer. The couple are active members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church and a feline rescue organization. They are enjoying becoming more involved in the community of Rocky Mount.
