Nadine Beach Skinner, MD, ABFM
Dr. Nadine Beach Skinner was born in Williamston, North Carolina and reared near the small community of Robersonville in Martin County. Upon graduation from Roanoke High School as her class’s Valedictorian in 1994, she attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina on full-merit scholarship. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with General Education Honors and Magna cum Laude designation in December 1997. While a student, she was active in the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Pre-Medical Honors Society and worked as a tutor for the University and Customer Service Administrator for a local business.
Dr. Skinner received her Doctor of Medicine from East Carolina University in 2002. She was active as a medical student in the Family Medicine Interest Group and even did an externship one summer with a local Nash County family physician. In June 2005, she completed her residency training in Family Medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. As a resident, she was named Outstanding Resident of the Year for 2004 and represented her residency at the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians’ Winter Conference in Asheville, North Carolina. She served on the Medical Records and Competencies committees as a resident representative for New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Dr. Skinner has also been involved in the medical students’ Family Medicine rotation. In addition, she has been active in research, being published in the Journal of Family Practice in May 2005.
Dr. Skinner has many interests outside of medicine including writing, painting, fishing, watching sports, enjoying music, and spending time with friends and family. She is married to Nash County native Jeff Skinner, and they have a cat named Prince Murdock. The couple is active at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.
Dr. Skinner has special interests in Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics but enjoys taking care of people of all ages.
